Pat is a recent graduate of SFU’s Kinesiology program with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation. At an early age, he was intrigued with the human body and knew this was an area he enjoyed learning about and could see a possible career in.
As an athlete, Pat has been engaged in a variety of sports from both a coaching and playing perspective allowing him to gain knowledge in working with others. He has been on both ends of the rehabilitation process with aiding in others journeys as well as recovering from injury himself.
Pat believes in individualizing each person’s rehabilitation journey and that there is no one size fits all approach. He works with the individual to come up with a comfortable and sustainable program that can be done consistently inside and outside the clinic.
His goal is for patients to have an increase in knowledge of their injuries and provide them with the tools to recover and continue to gain strength.

I wake up every day recognizing how fortunate I am to have been in practice for just over 24 years. I’ve been told that my treatments have intense focus, yet I take the time to sit, listen and hear my patients.
Understanding how your current issue(s) affect your life is key to helping you make changes and improvements to your quality of life. Many times in treatment, we need the assistance of other medical professionals as their skill sets and knowledge are different from mine. I’m fortunate to be surrounded by, and refer to, an exemplary team of medical professionals who are just as passionate and dedicated to helping you as I am.
I am fortunate to instruct across Canada and internationally, and LOVE coming home to continue serving my patients.
If I’m not taking new patients, it’s because I am focussed on my current patients, serving them to the best of my ability.
The best compliment I receive from my patients is their referrals of their close friends and family members. I respect the opportunity to work with my patients and am privileged to have become a long standing member of their trusted medical professional team.

CURRENTLY UNABLE TO ACCEPT NEW PATIENTS.
Taunya MacDonald has been a registered massage therapist since 2009, graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy’s 3000 hour programme. Previous work experience has ranged from the bustle and repetition of being a waitress and bartender, to endless hours of sitting in a cubicle while working for atelephone company; both have provided useful insight into the different physical challenges we face, and how their effects can be treated with massage therapy.
My love to learning, sharing knowledge, and empowering other people lead to tutoring fellow students in massage school, becoming a teaching assistant at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine once I was an RMT, and now I enjoy helping the people I treat have a better understanding of their bodies, and how they work. When possible, I want you to understand why you’re having a problem, and how to resolve it – to empower you to participate in your own Wellness.
After entering practice, I discovered additional ways of treating that help me achieve my treatment goals, including the use of Graston Technique, hot stones (not in a spa-style application), and Rock Tape. Not every treatment will include all of my ‘tools’ – what we choose to use will depend on why you’re seeking treatment. Whether we use light and relaxing techniques that will focus on your nervous and lymphatic system, or more vigorous techniques associated with ‘deeper’ work will depend upon you, and your body on the day of treatment.
Academics:
- 1991 B.A. English Literature, Simon Fraser University

- 2010 Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy
- 2012 Graston Technique Practitioner

After seeing the positive effects of registered massage therapy, Tomi made a career change from the high-stress pastry kitchen to the calmness of a clinical setting. Tomi can relate to life’s stresses, and thinks that there should be 32 hours in a day, so you could have 8 hours of sleep, do stretches, read, crochet, paint, draw, sew…clean underneath the washer and dryer ;D While we’re limited to a 24-hour-day, Tomi’s keen to help people manage the effects of stress in their daily lives with a massage.
Having graduated from the West Coast Collage of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) in 2016, Tomi has she worked with a broad spectrum of people and conditions, which include but are not limited to: the South Granville Senior Centre, VGH, Canucks Place for Children, the GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre and in the school’s specialty in-reach clinic for multiple sclerosis, Parkinson, Fibromyalgia, Cerebral Palsy, Chronic Fatigue and Scleroderma.
